Bollywood celebs who made it on their own

We all know making a place in Bollywood is tad difficult especially when you have 'no godfather' or ancestral foothold or famous parents in the film industry. There are many such celebs who have made it big and that too on their own.  Their sheer determination and hard work is commendable that brought them success and fame in the industry. Here are some of the most successful Bollywood stars who are famous and have only themselves to thank for.

PRIYANKA CHOPRA

Bollywood’s most sought after actresses and now Hollywood too, Priyanka Chopra aka Piggi Chops was a successful model before she became an actress. Priyanka won her Miss World title in 2000. She made her acting debut in Bollywood in the year 2003 in ‘The Hero: Love story of a Spy.

Anushka Sharma

Anushka once said in an interview that she wanted to make
it big in the modelling world and had no aspirations for films.
Anushka was picked by Wendell Rodricks as a model for
Lakme Fashion Week at the Spring Summer ‘07 collection, after
which there was no looking back for her. She made her acting
debut (we can say a dream debut for anyone) in
Yash Raj Films's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

LARA DUTTA

Lara made her debut in 2003 with the film Andaaz. She won
the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award and
Screen Best Female Debut Award also for her role in the film.

MADHURI DIXIT

The dancing diva of Bollywood, Madhuri Dixit made her
film debut in Abodh in 1984, However, she rose to fame
with Tezaab in 1988.

JACQUELINE FERNANDEZ

Jacqueline Fernandez made her acting debut in the 2009
in Bollywood fantasy movie, Aladin. Jacqueline Fernandez
was the winner of the Miss Sri Lanka Universe pageant of 2006.
While on a modelling assignment in India in 2009, Fernandez
got an offer to join Hindi film industry.

AISHWARYA RAI

Aishwarya Rai dropped out of college in the early 90s to
pursue a career in modelling. She won the title of
Miss World in 1994. Aishwarya made her acting debut with
the 1997 Tamil film Iruvar. Her Bollywood debut was also
in the same year opposite Bobby Deol in Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya.

SUNNY LEONE

Sunny Leone was born in Sarnia, Ontario to Sikh Punjabi
parents. In 2011, she participated in the Indian reality series
Bigg Boss. Post-Bigg Boss, she begged many roles in
Bollywood.  She made her debut with Bhatt camp in Jism 2.

KATRINA KAIF

Katrina Kaif has established her name in Bollywood as one
of the most successful actresses at the box office. Katrina
started her modelling career at a tender age. Kaif's modelling
work led to her discovery by London-based filmaker Kaizad
Gustad. Soon, he offered Katrina a role in his film. Katrina made
her Bollywood debut in 2003 with the film Boom.

DEEPIKA PADUKONE

Deepika Padukone began her career as a successful model.
She hit the international scene when Maybelline made her
their new international cover face. At the fifth annual
Kingfisher Fashion Awards, for Indian models and designers,
she was awarded the title of Model of the Year. She was
chosen for the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar for 2006.
Deepika made her Bollywood debut in Farah Khan’s
Om Shanti Om opposite Shah Rukh Khan and rest
all as we say is history!

GENELIA D'SOUZA

Born in Mumbai into a Mangalorean Catholic family, Genelia
started off her career as a model. Genelia did her first
modeling assignment at the age of 15 for the Parker Pen
commercial with Amitabh Bachchan. She made her Bollywood
debut in 2003 opposite her now-husband Riteish deshmukh.
Genelia is a popular star in South cinema too.

EXPOSED: Katrina Kaif's Porn Connection

Your past will always catch up with you, no matter how hard you try to make it go away - goes a popular quote. It seems that certain sordid ghosts from the past have started making their appearances in the pretty Katrina Kaif's life. Katrina along with sister Isabelle Kaif now have to apparently contend with squalid skeletons popping out of their closets.

Some photographs from the past have surfaced and are doing the rounds on social networking sites. These photographs seem to depict the Kaif sisters' close proximity with the British adult film maker - Terry Stephens. In these photographs, Isabelle and Katrina are represented in a somewhat intimate position with the film maker. Now whether these photographs are real or doctored - your guess is as good as ours.

The emergence of these photographs could possibly create an embarrassing situation for both - Katrina Kaif and Isabelle Kaif. Kat is rumoured to be tying the knot soon with her current beau Ranbir Kapoor and these pictures may not go down well with the Kapoorkhandaan. Isabelle on the other hand, seems to be keen on trying her luck in Bollywood after the debacle of her international venture - Dr Cabbie, which incidentally was a Salman Khan production.
